Milestone reached: 1000 trees planted!!!
At Need Wipes, we are committed to offsetting our carbon footprint wherever possible. A big part of our sustainable journey is to give back to the natural environment through global reforestation efforts and charities that align with our values. We are therefore really happy to announce that we just hit a major milestone by planting our 1000th tree through Ecologi
Ecologi is an awesome global effort working for impactful climate solutions such as carbon avoidance and reforestation. For every product purchased on our website, they will plant a tree.
And this is only the beginning! As proud members of 1% for the Planet, we donate 1% of all our sales to a select few charities that do some truly amazing work for the planet, driving change with a positive impact on the world we live in. Greening Australia drives large-scale landscape restoration programs covering millions of hectares of land and protecting hundreds of native plant species and wildlife.
Their four main programs tackle some of Australia’s biggest environmental challenges:
- Great Southern Landscapes - works with hundreds of landholders and partners to create Australia’s biggest carbon sink and establish thousands of hectares of habitat across southern Australia.
Clean Up Australia
As one of Australia’s perhaps most recognised and trusted environmental charities that have been running for three decades, Clean Up Australia inspires and empowers communities to clean up, fix up and conserve our environment. They teach us that a little goes a long way, as long as we work together.
Planet Ark is another well-established environmental organisation running several great programs for the betterment of the environment, everything from planting trees, to educating on how to reduce waste, and finding a recycling solution near you.
Out of all the charities we are passionate about, the Plastic Free Foundation perhaps resonates a bit extra with us and our own efforts to ban plastic wipes. Did you know that Australia generates more single-use plastic waste per capita than any other country in the world?
The Plastic Free Foundation is a global movement that works towards a world free of plastic waste, inspiring 100+ million participants in 190 countries to reduce single-use plastic waste every day at home, at work, in schools, and other public places. Change is possible, but only if we work together. We only have one planet to call home – let’s make it a plastic-free one.
And to all the heroes that have already joined our initiative, we want to seize this opportunity to say THANK YOU. With your help, we are improving the world.
